CORRECT!

2). To meet the minimum instrument experience requirements, within the last 6 calendar months you need

a). six hours in the same category aircraft, and at least 3 of the 6 hours in actual IFR conditions.
b). six instrument approaches, holding procedures, and intercepting and tracking courses in the appropriate category of aircraft.
c). six hours in the same category aircraft.
The answer is:
b). six instrument approaches, holding procedures, and intercepting and tracking courses in the appropriate category of aircraft.

Actually the revised regulation (effective sometime in late '09) clarifies the wording here a bit. A pilot always had effectively a year to get current - the initial 6 months and then an additional 6 before the only way to get current was an IPC with a CFII. The new reg simply requires a year in which to get current before an IPC is required.
